Jesse and his wife Katie are in Chandler, AZ.  Jesse is taking classes both at International Baptist College and at a local community college pursuing his BA in Ministerial Studies.  Katie teaches special needs children at one of the public schools in Chandler. They are expecting their first child in March, a little girl they plan to call Jessie Grace. This will be our first grandchild! They lead the college/career age Sunday School and small group at South East Valley Baptist Church.

Anna arrived in Brazil the beginning of January to help a missionary develop the TEFL (TEACHING ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE) program in their school. She will be staying for 6 months and is excited about the opportunity to use the training she has had in this area and learning Portuguese! She also works online, teaching English to South American students and monitoring the work of other instructors.  When God has her finished with this assignment, we would love to be ready to have her come to Ihu and help us plan a program in conjunction with the Bible School to strengthen the student’s English skills.

Rachel, and her husband, Andrew Schellenberger, are our neighbors here in PNG for the moment – just while we are staying at the TTMK Mission Guest House! Andrew teaches in the Bible School here, does lots of wonderful construction, and on Sunday, he and Rachel hike to the the church plant in the village of Aminawa and oversee the Bible School student’s teaching and preaching. Three souls were saved there this past Sunday! (Jan 20) Rachel keeps busy in the Kunai Health Center, “doctoring” snake bites, broken bones, bush knife cuts, expectant mothers, and treating many tropical illnesses.  We benefit from the expertise of both, enjoying the comfort of the guesthouse and being only a few steps away from medical attention and advice!

Ben, our youngest (who is now 22!) is nearing the end of his college career at BJU. He has one more semester in the Airframe & Powerplant course (airplane mechanics) and then will need one summer school and one more semester to complete a BS in business. He would like to use this training working directly with a mission or, as a way to enter a country not directly open to missionaries. He is his society’s chaplain and is involved in an extension ministry to the deaf.
