Dear Praying Friends,
We have had a wonderful start to the new year! We were with all our state-side kids at Bethel Calvary Baptist Church in Greenville, SC, New Year’s Day – a special and unusual happening as they are now all young adults! We began traveling the following week and have been greatly blessed in the churches God has opened up for us.
Our first meeting in January was at Sturgis Baptist Church in Sturgis, MI. It was a very encouraging Wednesday. Pastor Long and the folks were very interested in the work in PNG, especially as one of their own, Sarah Glover is currently in Papua New Guinea as a part of the linguistic team. Trina enjoyed her time with the Awana T&Ts and was very glad that “measles night” only involved red stickers!
We next headed into Wisconsin for a meeting at First Baptist Church in Hartland, WI. How sweet it was to again see Pastor Paul and Sandy Bowser. Brother Paul was one of the first pastors I met in Arizona after coming to Christ in 1980. He was a blessing to me then and now! We had a terrific Sunday with them and were thrilled to hear the following Monday the pastor and deacons decided to recommend us to the church for support! This meeting was reminiscent of one we had just before the holidays in Buhl, Idaho with 30-year friends, Pastor and Mrs. Knutson. Both were awesome days!
We then took a long drive out to Casper, WY to be a part of the mission conference at Calvary Baptist Church. We had been acquainted with Tami Matney, the pastor’s wife for quite a long time. Tami’s mother taught our 26 year old daughter Anna in the first grade! We were blessed to get to meet her husband, Pastor Jeff Matney and their family. We so enjoyed being in a different members home for lunch each day. This church showed a lot of interest in the work God has called us to and we loved getting to know them and see the excitement they have for missions!
We are so excited about these new partners!
Along with the church in Wisconsin that took us on for support, we were taken on in January by two other churches we had been in last year, one in Louisiana and the other in Arizona!! We are so excited about these new partners! We have 45% of our support and know that we are being considered by a couple other churches we were in previously! I was encouraged to know my work permit application was being “looked at” as I was requested to revise a part.
We have enjoyed getting to know better many of the families at our sending church in Rapid City, SD, Liberty Baptist Tabernacle. We have been blessed by the hospitality of our dear friend Ginny Byers. Working at the print shop is like being on “holy ground”, seeing thousands of John & Romans being prepared for distribution! We are on the road again after speaking at our church’s Sweetheart Banquet last Friday night. We are currently based in Tulare, SD for a round robin mission conference involving 4 churches!
We want to thank you for praying for the fellowship meeting held at Kotidanga Baptist Church among the Kamea. Over 650 registered their attendance and there were 59 salvation decisions and many other decisions concerning areas of sanctification! Eight years ago there was no gospel preaching work in this area. Pray with us that God would use us in beginning such an outreach for Christ among the Orokolo. It will take a team to build an effective and lasting work, so please pray for missionaries with complementary skills and desires to work alongside us.
Presenting the Person of Christ,
Wil & Trina Muldoon
