When William Carey began the modern missionary movement more than two centuries ago, he spoke to believers with a holy confidence: “God’s cause will triumph.” It already has, but we still have a responsibility to finish the job…to make a difference in the rest of the world. 6000 people groups remain unreached. That’s approximately 1/2 of the world’s population. We must allow God to put a passion in our hearts!! Do we really believe there is NONE OTHER NAME than Jesus Christ by which people can be saved?

After 25 years in home missions, we have volunteered to take the gospel to those in Papua New Guinea who have not heard. Hundreds of different language groups exist in this remote corner of the world, and many of these have not yet been reached with the Gospel. Tribes are asking for someone to come and teach them God’s Word.

When Henry Stanley found David Livingstone in Africa, he begged the missionary to return to England. His wife was dead, and his children were in London. The years of hard labor in Africa had taken their toll on him. The shortest march was too much for him, so he was often compelled to stop and rest. He lacked men and money. Stanley said, “You must return to England. The Queen is waiting to make you a knight. Thousands are waiting to welcome you!” Livingstone replied, “It is impossible; I cannot leave. My work for God is not finished. I must finish my task!”
