“Waft it on the rolling tide, Jesus saves, Jesus saves!”

Yes, He does! The HAREVAVO MEN’S MEETING was greatly blessed!

The travel was great: no rain, smooth water, no sunburn, no engine trouble. The trip to Harevavo is about 3 1/2 hours one way in our dinghy, using a 40hp outboard motor.

Shem Baptist was well prepared: they had plenty of food, cooks, pots – the women brought from home everything necessary for the men to enjoy a meal following the two morning preaching sessions. The church had done a lot of praying, fasting, and inviting. At least 3 different times a member came and explained to me how someone they specifically had prayed for, or invited, were one of those who had responded to the invitation. The evening meeting was open to everyone. Pastor had told the church family to sit outside and listen if visitors filled up the church at the night meetings. There were as many outside as inside!

I asked God for at least one salvation at each service. There were 7 services total, and 18 salvation decisions, 16 men and 2 women. There was a women’s meeting on Tuesday, prior to the start of the Wednesday–Thursday event. One of Pastor Murphy’s daughters stayed after to talk with Trina about salvation, and she led her to Christ. Another young married woman that Trina led to the Lord as a youth stayed to talk to her about a sin in her life that she felt might be keeping her husband from being saved. The men saved were of a wide variety; a range of ages, religions, and community standing. I think the most common comment by the visitors was that the message of salvation was so clear.

AND another blessing, 9 of those men were back on Sunday,
and have been showing up faithfully since the special meeting!

BAIMURU BAPTIST BIBLE INSTITUTE GRADUATION!

We had the joy of honouring 6 students at our fourth Bible institute graduation, two married couples and two single men. The two year course they completed prepares them to be of service in their local church. They are also given as a gift the study and teaching materials that have been used in their own educational process. We try to do everything possible to send them out ready to teach others! Many family members and friends attended the graduation, followed by an outdoor meal. This group of graduates is very young in Christ. Please pray they find the right and best ways to live and share among their own tribal group what they have learned.
