Dear Praying Friends,

During the September term break, Jones’s mother, (Jones and Mimi are first year students) who was also the caregiver of their twins, had a stroke. She spent a week at Kapuna Bush Hospital, and then was released as it appeared nothing more could be done for her. As soon as the weather and sea were acceptable for travel, we helped them get to their home village. She died 3 days later. That was four weeks ago; the haus krai is finished, but the Jones family is having some “double minded” thinking about returning right away. Lost family members are discouraging them. Also, it is difficult to find someone to live with you and watch the children so both adults can attend classes. (Especially when the extended family has superstitious thoughts about the former babysitter’s death!) Please pray they will not be “sifted”; Satan seems to be working to derail their training and calling.

We are well into our last term of 2025. Pastor Danny and his wife were out two Sundays and that gave our students many opportunities to minister! The Year 3 students did most of the preaching. Student Lynne taught the Saturday Ladies’ Meeting and Sunday School. The “year 3s” did well. However, I did have one of the “Year 1s” fill in for a service, and was reminded why I don’t have first year students publicly preach! Even though we heard him practice in advance – when he spoke in church, all kinds of new material showed up in the message!

Students Judas and Lynne came to visit with us, and shared their plans to return to Kotidanga. Aii will be returning to Harevavo to assist Pastor Murphy. Miki has a bad church situation in his village, so he is going to stay here a while, perhaps while we finish a second year with this group. We would really like to get him involved in a more active church situation, and one where he might find a suitable wife. While he is here, I will use him in the classroom and in the church, wherever Pastor thinks he can best be a help. I also will use him as a partner in outreach. Our school year will end December 12, and we will have a special service to honor the Year 3 interns on Saturday the 13th. Two of our graduates are invited to be a part of this service. The following week we will start helping students get home; some for the Christmas break, and others to their place of ministry.

Some great things have been going on in the ministries of our graduates too! Pastor Maisa in Huruta recently baptized 8 new believers! Pastor Murphy took a team of about twenty Charity Baptist Church folk to distribute 1,000 whole King James Bibles to the village of Miaru. He did all the preaching. The team spent two nights and two full days sharing the Gospel and distributing Bibles to the people of the village. God worked in all their hearts, and several souls in the village were saved! Pastor Benson is holding a 3-day meeting at the end of November to celebrate the completion of their church building in Varia.

We are so thankful for your prayers and support. You make it possible for us to be here!
