Dear Praying Friends,

We did accept two new couples for the 2026 school year. Michael and Hedah and their 4 girls are from the village of Huruta where Pastor Maisa oversees Liberty Baptist Church. Robert and Linda were saved a little over a year ago here in Baimuru, and are enrolled as well. At this time, both couples are just committed to a one year course of study, preparing to better serve in their local churches. We will see if God works in the hearts of the men concerning a call to ministry.

As often comes about with new students, some get truly born again during the first term, and this is what happened to Hedah! As I was teaching in the first three chapters of Romans, the Holy Spirit convicted her of a life that showed no real growth or fruit. Trina visited with her after class and led her to Christ.

Another woman, in a very different circumstance also came to Christ recently. Moli is the sister of a long-time member of Baimuru Baptist. She became bedridden, with what I believe to be heart disease as her illness was described. A group of church ladies went to witness to her two weeks ago on a Saturday, and Moli was saved! And what a timely blessing of God, as last Tuesday she entered eternity!

The family of God has also grown through the ministry of Kotidanga Baptist Church, as 2025 graduates, Judas and Lynne have seen four women and two men come to Christ in February and March!

With the class having both first and second year students, we spend one hour a day in a split class, Miki Arua (now in his fourth year with us) and Pastor Danny teaching the first course (Creation to Christ) to the Year 1s, and the Year 2s learning to write teaching/preaching outlines using the Child Evangelism Fellowship plan. I am with all the students for the first two hours of the day, and Trina teaches an hour of English to all as the morning ends.

I do have a prayer request for Miki – but as I think about it more, not just for him, as it is a bigger need than his alone. Miki is called into ministry, and as such, needs a partner. In this culture, a “bride price” is anticipated being received by the girl’s family. Miki believes biblically, he should “owe no man anything” and does not want to be in the situation described in Proverbs of the borrower being servant to the lender. In most cases, the bride price asked is exorbitant, and the young man seeks contributions from all his relations, and even still only basically gives a “down payment”, allowing them to marry, and then spends years owing the bride’s family, “under their thumb.” Sadly, as the family who has daughters is looking forward to this financial boon, even Christian families are hesitant to let their daughter marry a servant of God, knowing they will not see much financial gain. So, please pray God would work in a special way on Miki’s behalf, leading him to the right virtuous woman. Pray too, that God would bring growth and change to this area of culture among His children.

I will be preaching the Easter services here at Baimuru Baptist as the other staff members are preaching elsewhere. I look forward to lifting up the Risen Saviour!
