Dear Praying Friends,

2025 ended with several encouraging meetings, including the “grand opening” of the Varia El Shaddai Baptist Church. New Guineans love EVENTS, and this was a good opportunity to share the gospel with the local community. Six of our graduates (currently pastoring) were in attendance. There were three professions of faith during the weekend meeting, and from what I heard, all were “provoked to love and good works”, particularly in the area of evangelism. The graduates have discussed taking turns hosting an annual meeting with an evangelistic purpose. That kind of thinking is something I LOVE to see – plans being considered that are NOT instigated by the missionary!

Two weeks later, in mid-December, Baimuru Baptist Bible Institute recognized the students’ achievements with two guest preachers and two pigs! Both were thoroughly enjoyed! Two of our graduates preached. We honoured our three-year interns, and gave certificates to our students that have just completed one year with us. Trina and I were so blessed by the growth evidenced in the preaching of Pastor Murphy Hukorape and Pastor Maisa Epe. The times I had to just visit with them were wonderful too.

News from PNG!

We are now enjoying “summer vacation”, our Christmas break. It is not an idle time. We take a trip to Cairns, Australia for health check-ups, eye exams, and for my hearing and hearing aids to be evaluated. It is also a chance to regroup, plan, and prepare for the next year. We have two couples and one single mother returning. Two other couples and another single young woman have expressed an interest in attending. Pray with me concerning the decision whether or not to accept new students in 2026. I am praying about a furlough beginning some time in 2027, and although I prefer every house full, and every garden tilled, I want to do what is best for both the current students and those whom we might train in the future.
